Vitra Jean Prouve EM Dining Table. New official authorized version by the Prouve estate, produced by Vitra germany. Designed in 1949/50 by Jean Prouve. The elegance of "EM" can be attributed to the slight slant of the legs. Prouve developed it for the "Maison Tropique", a project for prefabricated housing, at the beginning of the fifties as a variation of an earlier design. The "EM" (Entretroise Metallique) table is especially suitable within the domestic context as a dining or home office table. The larger table can also be used as a conference table.

The designer and engineer Jean Prouve developed the EM Table around 1950 for the project 'Maison Tropicale'. Adhering to the aesthetics of necessity, even the details of this table are determined by its construction. The canted legs are connected by a crossbar, illustrating the structural forces and flow of stresses in a way that is typically seen only in engineering structures.
