New York Museum of Modern Art – MoMA "The Fritted Watch"
Developed by Projects, USA
New York Museum of Modern Art “The Fritted Watch” honors YOSHIO TANIGUCHI’S 2004 MoMA building which features partially opaque walls made of fritted glass with thin white horizontal stripes that create a subtle screen effect to veil the view. The Fritted Watch draws its inspiration from Taniguchi’s new fritted window which is part of The New York Museum of Modern Art’s new building in New York City. The watch follows this same pattern. You can see white lines etched in the lens (glass) of the watch with the MoMA logo at the center in the bottom. The detail of this timepiece can be seen as the red minute and black hour hand turn creating illusionary effects as time passes. The Fritted Watch is a unisex watch with the MoMA logo balanced on the bottom of the dial and measuring 33mm in diameter (1 1/3″) and a height of 7.5mm (0.29″). It is made of stainless steel, in a brushed finish, and is water-resistant. The New York Museum of Modern Art “The Fritted Watch” comes with an 18mm (0.70″) soft black leather band.
